The Maria Kaupas Academy Upper School is a hybrid program for grades 9-12 meeting three days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays), September through May. We begin with students aged 14-15 -- in the late logic phase -- and advance to studies in rhetoric beginning the second or third year.
Recognizing parents as the primary educators of their children, the Upper School is comprised of homeschool students, yet provides a fully comprehensive and rigorous Classical Catholic education. The descriptor “hybrid" denotes the fact that MKA meets only three days a week, thus providing opportunity for parents to use remaining weekdays however they see fit. Thus, while our curriculum leaves no need for parents to supplement at home, our hybrid model provides room for parents to do so if they choose.
Mass is offered as part-and-parcel of every school day.
The school faculty includes an in-house MDHSA-certified Homeschool Evaluator, offering transcript and diploma assistance.
